I have a small leak at the base of the nut that connects the gas line to the oven safety valve. I tightened it, but still leaks. The end of the gas line has a different flair. Double flair maybe. How can I best correct the leak?

My oven will not light. The igniter lights up and glows but the oven won't light unless I tap the gas valve. What are my possible causes?

First off, thanks for the awesome tips. I learned about the ignitor from reading the site. Our ignitor went bad a few weeks ago, replaced it and all seemed fine. Today we started up the oven and after about 15 minutes heard a loud pop, then a loud woosh and flames were seen behind the oven. Unplugged the oven, but could still hear gas. Moved the oven and shut off the gas. I removed the broiler pan and took a look, but I couldn't see anything, except for some burn areas above the safety valve where the flame was coming out. I turned the gas back on for a second and heard the gas flowing pretty loudly, so I turned it back off. Again the oven is totally turned off, no power to it at all, but we can really heard the gas. Could this be the safety valve?

My oven would not light so I installed a new ignitor #WB2X9154 and oven fired right up and ignitor glowed really well but when I shut off the oven with oven temp knob the flame reduced down but after 45 minutes still did not go out. I had to shut oven off with master gas valve. A few weeks back we also smelled gas just a little in the kitchen but we have not smelled it since then. What are the chances of having two parts go out at once and what do you think has happened? Thank You Very Much!
