Our GE dishwasher seems like it doesn't fill up with enough water. It will go through the cycles with very low water level. I have checked water pressure, supply line and water valve. They seems to be ok. The dishwasher will run before it fills up enough with water. Is this normal for a GE dishwasher of this model? Or could there be a problem with something else? Thank you Bob G.

Does the water inlet valve determine how much water comes into the dishwasher during each cycle or is there something else that actually determines the water level? I am having a problem with my mid and upper arms spraying and cleaning. I have checked and cleaned out my sump and filters. I have noticed from other posts that if there isn't enough water in the sump, the pump will not have enough water to pump through the manifold to the upper arms. I have manually added approximately 12 cups of additional water during the cycles to see if this would help and it has. All the arms are turning with excellent pressure. I am trying to figure out if the inlet valve is not letting enough water in or if something else is restricting the water flow. The water shut off valve is completely open. I should probably ask how much water should this model have to adequately function? The water level is at the same height or just below the coarse screen when the arms don't turn. When I add an additional 1/2 - 3/4 of inch of water, it works great. The dishwasher is only 2 1/2 years old.
