Hi, The start cap is baked out on the vent motor. SMV-260UA-C it says 10uF. Do you have a part number and replacement instructions for that? Thanks, Cyril
Answer Hello Cyril,
You will need to drop the unit from its' installation and remove the cover to access the capacitor. Once removed, the capacitor is mounted using one screw. Since there are only two wires you should have no problem swapping them out. Re-install the cover and re-install the unit. Be sure to use two people to remove and re-install the microwave to prevent injury and/or damage to the cooktop and countertop.
the microwave was used with internal circulation for venting but now we want to adapt to an outside vent system thru ductwork. How do we modify the present working system to do that and what parts do we need?
Answer PT, The ventillation/blower motor assembly is a relatively easy adjustment to make. You remove the microwave, remove the motor cover panel screws, "flip" the motor so the openings in the plenum face the direction you want the vent pipe to attach(top or back) and resecure the assembly. The duct work and any needed adapters, wall or roof caps, screws, tape, etc. can be purchased from the local home improvement center, and installed by any basic "do it yourselfer" .
