I kinked the tube which goes between the water tank and the dispenser right where it attaches to the tank. Can I replace that tubing? Given the age of the refrigerator I do not want to spend the money for a new tank but would like to use the water dispenser. I already have to buy a new fresh produce bin. Thanks for any ideas on how to replace the tubing with the kink.

When I push the water dispenser, water comes down behind the tank and no water comes out of the dispenser. The ice maker works perfectly. Can a repair be made without replacing the water tank? I am willing to sacrifice the dispensed water, How do I turn off the supply to dispensed water without affecting the icemaker?

Answer Hello Roy. It is best to replace the tank WR17X2132, but you can bypass it with a union coupling 2300868. Hope this helps.

We purchased a home with a refrigerator which has a front dispenser. However, we don't see a filter inside the refrigerator/freezer or on the back of the unit. The mechanisms all appear to be operational but the water is yellow and so the ice cubes are yellow. The water from the front dispenser is of course not drinkable either. Does this model have a replaceable filter. If so, is it cost efficient. In a few years we will probably replace it, but until then it would be great to have the use of the front water and ice dispenser.

Answer Hi Theresa. I have looked up your model # and There is not a factory installed water filter. Over the years, build up such as calcium deposits will turn the inside of your water tank a yellowish color. It is advisable that you have someone change the water tank and install a accessible / removable water filter that you can change yearly. The water tank part # is WR17X2132. the in line water filter kit is part #AP717. You will also need to install water line installation kit part # TJ9CIMKIT20.Hope this helps. Thank - you.
