I recently ask a question about my water dispenser and ice maker on my refrigerator. My valve was working properly before I fixed the leak. I am concerned about putting the wire back correctly. does it not matter.

Answer David,
As far as making sure the right connector is on the right solenoid it does matter. If you do not put them back on properly the ice and water will not work and you may have water coming out when the dispenser is calling for water out of the icemaker. Your Yellow and orange connection wil go to the single valve, the blue and orange to the water valve and other to the icemaker.
I disconnected the wiring from my water dispenser to fix a leak. I no longer have the leak but my ice maker does not make ice . However I do get drinking water out . I thought I put the wires back correctly but maybe not. Can you help

Answer Hello David. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
