I have to replace the heater sheath. Part 5300JK1005D. Where is this located, and how do I get to it?
The heater sheath would be located in the freezer compartment and you would have to remove the drawers and rear wall of the freezer compartment. This will be located on the bottom of the evaporator coils.
I also need to access the defrost sensor to check/replace it. There appears to not be any screws on the back freezer panel. What is the best way to get to this part?
Answer Hello WC. The screws are usually behind covers. If there is none, then the back wall should unsnap from the unit. We can not get much info on Kenmore models. Sorry.
Im getting error er dh on my fridge and the fridge is not cooling so should I start with replacing the defrost heater?
The most common reason for the ER Dh error on your type of refrigerator would be the defrost sensor 6615JB2005H. You would want to test the heater but would most likely be good.
