How do I replace the control box (control pad 0 part # 6871JB1280P (A). Does it pop out. Do I remove the water dispenser as well to get at the panel?

Answer Hello Terry,
The control box is held in by clips. You would have to pop it out of place. You will also want to remove the ice funnel to do this. If you are needing to replace the main control board then it is behind a panel on the back of the refrigerator and the control board has clips that hold in place.
Digital display is dead but refrigerator runs fine. Would the main board have anything to do with the digital display?

Answer Hello Mark. Test for power to the display board. If there is power there, replace the display board. If there is no power there, replace the main control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
