the flame comes and then goes off in about 5-10 seconds.. i tested the resistance across the coils and the ignitor, and they read about right.. also when i try to restart without unplugging, the ignitor will not even heat up. once i unplug and restart the flame comes in for about 5-10 seconds.. is it the control board that's bad or should i do more tests on the coils..
Answer SRI, Are you testing the heat, with the exhaust vent disconnected from the dryer? If the vent is totally restricted or kinked, the hi limit switch will open and turn off the burner relatively quickly. If the vent is OK, then yes, you'll want to observe the coils and ignition procedure. Testing the resistance of the coils will need to be performed, after the dryer has run and heated for a while(10 - 20 minutes) before you could see a possible issue.
How long before this part is in stock?
