I took apart my LG Dryer to replace a felt liner, and when I reassembled it the dryer would not work and gave an error code tE1. I believe the problem relates to the connector into my power board that comes from the thermistor. When I took the wires out instead of disconnecting the 6 prong connector with blue, red, orange & green wires coming in, the 6 boxed receiving piece came out with the wire and I am concerned that it was possibly compromised. I put the 6 boxed receiving unit snuggly back on the board, and then put my omhs tester probes in the blue & orange connector (male end), and got a reading of 1 (when set to 20k). I pulled the thermistor and got the proper reading of 10.17. Is my wiring harness bad, or is there another problem with the board? If the harness is bad is that a difficult replacement? I am not an electrician, but can follow simple instructions.

My wife was drying a normal load of laundry when we noticed a HOT smell. We checked the dryer, couldn't find anything wrong, but decided to not use it anymore that day. Beginning two days later, we used the dryer at least six times without a smell for the next week. We used it for one small load and the dryer started lightly smelling like a burnt wire or the same HOT smell but it was much more noticeable. My wife tried drying one more light load and the smell was very heavy, so I stopped the dryer and shut the breaker off. The light in the dryer was working at that time but seemed dimmer than usual. The next day, I turned the breaker on and tried to turn the dryer on at that time but it would turn on nor would the light even light. As for a lint fire, there was no smoke and we just recently vaccumed the bottom vents and replaced the pipe for heat exhaustion two weeks before the first time we smelled something. Do you believe that one of the boards are fried or what do you think I should look for?
