My dryer shuts off after about 30 mins. The unit will not power on until it cools down. I havemcleaned snd changed the vent, replaced motor and display control board and thermister. Can the moisure sensor be the problem? It does it in cycle and timed dry.
You will want to check your neutral circuit to make sure that when the unit is shutting off it is not due to power loss from a loose connection. If this checks ok and the unit has to cool down then the control board would most likely be the cause. You can test the resistance of the moisture sensor to ensure that it is good.
What does the sensor assembly do? I am having a problem with the gas staying lit for more than 5 secs at i minute intervals. I changed the whole gas valve, and now am purchasing all the thermostats. cleaned all the ducting, disconnected vent from the back of the dryer but gas will not stay lit more than 5-7 seconds. Any suggestions?
The sensor is a moisture sensor that would send the moisture in the vent air. The way to test this to see if it is good would be to measure the resistance from red to white and should be 300 +/- 20 ohms and measure from white to black and should have the same resistance. If the resistance is incorrect then replace the part.
