After cleaning our oven, some of the buttons work about half of the time. But they are all used for the oven. The buttons are: bake broil, 5, 6, 7, and 8. I got mad at it one day and hit the panel and they all started working. But then the next time, they wouldn't work again. Would this panel fix the problem?
Answer Hello James,
This sounds more like a poor electrical connection than a failed part. I would open the control panel, WITH THE POWER TURNED OFF, and use a dry pencil eraser to clean the ribbon cable that connects the control panel to the control board. It is made permanently to the panel, but plugs onto the board. When you clean the ribbon cable connections, you should rub the ribbon with the eraser only in the direction toward the end that you just unplugged. Do not rub side to side at all and rubbing back toward the panel can also cause damage to the ribbons' traces. If this doesn't correct the issue, the issue will most likely be in the control board and not the panel.
After using the self cleaning function of the range we heard 3 long beeps and got an F-1 error code, I pressed clear and about 20 min's, later 3 beeps and F-1, I looked-up code and was directed to unplug wait 10 mins' or so, power up and see if code re-occurs it did, went to the next step and disconnected blue ribbon cables, repowered waited over an hour and no F -1 code, reset all connectors and reassembled controller assembly and repowered and F-1 code came back. From the manual it seems to indicate a faulty key pad, but in reading your info you indicate a thermistor might be the culprit, one other thing that may help is that pushing on the oven door will sometimes clear the F-1 code. Hope this is enough information to diagnose this problem.
Answer Hello Mike,
The F1 error code indicates that the oven sensor is open. The first thing that you want to do is check your oven sensor 6322B62214Aresistance. The resistance should be 1090 ohms plus or minus 5 percent. If this is not correct then replace the oven sensor. If the oven sensor checks ok then check your wiring for the sensor up to the PCB EBR74632601. If this checks ok then replace the main PCB.
