The ice maker no longer "clicks on" and adds water to the ice cube mechanism? The water works and I can manually put ice in the dispenser and it works. It just doesn't make its own ice? Is this the Solenoid, Reversin, Valve ?
Gord for Model Number LFX25960ST
Answer Hi Gord. Make sure the fill tube to the ice maker is not frozen. Have you tried to toggle the I/M switch on and off again ? Ice maker part # AEQ36756901. Is the bottom paddle stuck in the in position or bent ? Feel the ejector blades to see if there is a stuck cube in the tray. It will block the cycle. Is the temperature around 0° and not colder? Check with a thermometer in the middle of the freezer . I would use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist. you in your diagnosis. Place the ice maker part # in a forced fill. Have your meter already placed in the water valve connector to see if the water valve will get the 7 seconds of water fill voltage... TEST MODE
Press and hold the cube size button for more than three seconds to put the ice maker into test mode. The test cycle can be used to diagnose ice maker issues and to clean it. Is there any green led lights on in the ice maker indicator lights ? Let us know how they are configured ? Are there any codes showing at the fountain control ? Thank You.
The ice flap door does not open when the button is pushed causing ice to back up in the chute. Is that a solenoid problem and how would I replace?
Rich for Model Number LFX25971
Answer Hi Rich. Yes, if the solenoid does not have continuity, the coils internally are open and not allowing the plunger to be activated. It is part # 6421JB2002P. If you are not getting 120 vac to the solenoid then you need to check for a bad wire connection at the fountain control board part 6871JB2061C and the wires in between both devices. Thank You.
Ice dispensing flap does not close. Probably solenoid-how do you get to it to replace it?
Trent for Model Number LG LFX25975SB
Answer Hello Trent. To access the solenoid assembly 6421JB2002P on the dispenser, 1) Loosen the screw on the sub PWB. 2) Pull the sub PWB down.
3) Disconnect the wire harness and replace the sub PWB
in the reverse order of removal. Pull up and out on the dispenser cover to remove. Disconnect the wire harness. Remove the funnel. You can now access and replace the solenoid. Hope this helps.
