I am a retired hvac/r guy I have this old frig. Which gets stuck in defrost ok. I can roll it out ok, but it just gets stuck again. I looked at the the heater and defrost terminator and found this resistor in line with the defrost controls circuit. I dont have a schematic. Can you tell me what its for and what effect it could have on keeping the timer in defrost? thank you

Latest Questions

My fridge stops cooling, the light is on. I tried turning it off and on again still it would not cool or freeze. I tried turning the defrost time at the back and starts to cool. It did same thing several times. What is wrong with it?

3 year old refrigerator we use in a seasonal cabin. After running for about 15 hours it starts making a very loud ticking noise when the compressor is running. It seems to tick for a couple of hours each time. I called Magic Chef and they thought it was the defrost timer. Does that sound plausible?
