My dishwasher will not clean dishes. It sounds like it goes through all the cycles correctly and the soap tray opens. If I wedge the latch open to run the dishwasher with the door open it fills normally and then it will start to spray but then stop. I have checked all filters and removed any debris and it still does it. Sometimes when it starts again it will go high pressure and then immediately almost to a drip. I have already replaced the motor.

Answer Hello Kevin, You will want to check the volute cover, there is a check ball under the volute cover that may be getting stuck or sliding to stop the unit from spraying.

Answer Hello Steve, Make sure that you either are using detergent with rinse aid in it or if you are not using a detergent with rinse aid then make sure you have rinse aid in the dispenser. You will also want to check the pump to make sure that there is not debris or blockage. Also check that you are using the proper amount of detergent for water hardness. 1 teaspoon per grain of hardness.

Hello, My Frigidaire dishwasher is 5 years old. Water was not coming into the dishwasher so I have replaced the water inlet valve, now water is coming into the unit up to the heating element. The float is working properly. Drain and fill lines are clear but no water is coming through the 3 spray arms. There is also a hole on the side of the dishwasher about six inches up from the bottom where water should be coming in and it is not. I have cleaned all the spray arms and the hole in the side. When I start the dishwasher I hear the water filling in the bottom and then the water sound stops and I hear clicking sounds like the unit is trying to go through the cycles and cannot without the water. I would appreciate any suggestions you would have on what to do next. Thank You! Annie

Answer Hello Annie, The hole in the side of the tub is where the water comes in on initial fill. The problem with unit may be a clogged pump. You would want to make sure that your filter is clean and that there is nothing down inside the pump clogging it up.
