My Repair & Advice
I ordered a new circulation pump. When it arrived, I found that the mounting plate was also broken where the 4 mounting screws when into the plastic mounting plate underneath the circulation pump (this may have been why the pump failed). I ordered a new mounting plate and then assembled again. It all worked well.
You will need a set of "star drive" sockets (like an Allen key, but star shaped).
I recommend replacing the mounting plate right away. It appears to be a design defect as the four plastic mounting points break from the load of the heavy pump motor. The part is cheap and you can save yourself the headache of waiting another 2-3 days for the plate.
While you are at it. I recommend cleaning and touching up your racks. Any rust has a very negative effect on any stainless utensils you wash. They get rust spots as well. Use one of the kits available. Thoroughly clean, dry, and touch up with two coats of special matching dishwasher rack paint. Then, most importantly, wait 24 hours before using the dishwasher. It will give you something to do while you wait for parts and will keep your dishwasher going for many years.
It was easy to fix and has brought this expansive dishwasher back to life.
With everything made of stainless steel or plastic, there is no reason to get rid of your expensive dishwasher as long as it is cleaning your dishes well for you.
