Control panel stopped working

My Repair & Advice
I took the leap and ordered the control panel from AppliancePartsPros.com. The part had a different serial number from the one that I removed from my washing machine, but the website has a function that will cross reference it to see whether it will fit your machine. The replacement part arrived promptly. It looked a bit different than the original part, but it fit and had all the correct connections. I was able to replace the control panel using just ordinary Phillips head screwdrivers. Although it needs to be done with care because of the many buttons, springs, lights, plug ins, etc...
I'm a woman in my 60's and can't afford the inflated cost of home appliance repair in the Seattle area, so it made me happy to be able to fix the problem myself.
