Electric burner coil did not heat

My Repair & Advice
Plastic Receptacle heats up under stovetop when we use large canning pans that are a larger diameter than the coil. This heat buildup melts the plastic and allows the cord ends to become loose and not make good contact with the coil ends.
Removing the top panel on the back of the stove and raising the stovetop are the only prep steps needed. Unplug stove, remove existing receptacle (noting how wire was run), and install new receptacle. Plugging the two wires in is simple.
Sand the coil ends a bit before reinstalling to ensure good electrical contact, and you are back in business.
