My Repair & Advice
Following the video, I removed the old assembly and replaced it with the new one I ordered from AppliancePartsPros.com. However, the tubing leading from the new valve to the ice maker wouldn't seat properly in the coupling; it sprayed water when I turned it on. I finally figured out that the old tubing was stiff with age (6 years). I went to Ace Hardware, bought some 5/16" tubing, a brass tubing connector and small adjustable pipe clamps. I then cut the old tubing about 2 feet downstream from the valve, used the brass connector and a couple of small pipe clamps to join the new tubing to the old, then seated the new tubing end into the valve assembly. It worked. The 2 hours of work time included the trip to the hardware store. If the old tubing hadn't been a problem it would have taken maybe 20 minutes.
