Hot surface indicator light on constantly. What can I do to remedy this?
The hot surface indicator would be staying on due to a temperature sensor on one of the elements being defective. You would want to test each one for resistance at room temp. If there is one that does not match up then that is the element that would need to be replaced.
My double oven temperature is inaccurate. I always have to turn it down from 25 to 50 degrees or it burns things. What would I need to calibrate the ovens?
Answer Hello Pam,
This is most likely the temperature sensor WB21X5301 going out of tolerance. It should read about 1100 ohms of resistance at about 70°F. If this reads good, go to the board and check for the same resistance. If it is good, replace the clock. If it is not good, check the harness for issues. There will be a sensor in both the top and bottom ovens and they will need to be tested individually.
