Can I use a pipe wrench to remove the tub nut seal?
Ed for Model Number nav6800aww
Answer Hello Ed. It is not recommended to use a pipe wrench to remove the tub nut. It can break the tub nut. You will need to use the nut seal tool TJ22002898 and the spanner wrench 35-2968. Hope this helps.

Wrestling with the tub seal nut which refuses to cooperate. Tool #AP3873487, identified as tool for nut removal, doesn't appear to have projections necessary to engage the nut. Is there another tool or alternate method for removing the nut that the average guy can employ using common tools?

Answer Hi Ray. Yes, you can be extremely care full and use a 12" chisel to spit the nut in half. But you have to be care full to not only the ceramic/ or stainless tub, but the inner threads of the tub hub. What you really need is the spanner wrench tool that works along with the nut seal tool. The spanner wrench part # is 35-2968 Please CALL US TOLL FREE AT 1-877-477-7278 to assist with this part purchase. Thank you.
