We are getting a black, grease-like stain when we run "hot" water cycle. I removed the agitator and found grease on the stem and underside of agitator. Will the seal repair kit fix this? thanks...

Answer Jerome, If you use a liquid fabric softener then the black grease may just be the softener. The softener has a tendency to not completely dissolve and will cake and look like grease. If this is not the case then the seal repair kit would repair the issue.

I have a Whirlpool washer that appears to be leaking from the center of the tub. I suspect the centerpost gasket. My model number does not appear in any listing I can find on your site. The Kenmore site lists 383727 as my part number. Hi, my kenmore 80 series top load washing machine leaks from underneath center above the clutch housing.I have changed the centerpost gasket and the leak persists. Should I suspect leak is coming from transmission stem seal and if so would I need a special tool? I already have a spanner wrench.

Answer Hello Brian, The things that would cause the leaking would be a damaged tub or not sealing the centerpost seal with sealant.
