The power cord for the dryer is a 4 prong and the wall outlet is a 3 prong. Please tell what steps I must take in changing the 4 prong power cord to a 3 prong because I live in an apartment complex. I need to know if I would be able to use my dryer and not cause any harm to others. I thank you in advance.
To change the dryer cord you will access the terminal block. There will be a grounding strap on the center terminal that will connect from the center terminal to where the ground wire on the 4 wire cord is connected. The center wire of the 3 prong wire will go to the center post and the other 2 on the outer posts.
Can you run an electric dryer on a 30 watt breaker?
An electric dryer has to have a minimum of a 30 amp breaker to operate properly.
Do you a 7 or 8 feet long dryer cord?
Answer Alicia, for a 4 wire 30 amp 10' cord use part number TJ90-2028 and for a 3 wire 30 amp 10' cord use part number TJMAG3028. Thanks!
