When connecting the 3 wire power cord the middle goes to the middle. Does it matter if the outer 2 wires are reversed? The new cord I have is not color coded.

Good Morning, I have a front loading Samsung dryer under a yr old. with 3-prong electric cord. We just moved to a new house, and the outlet is set up for a 4-prong electric cord. I bought 4-prong electric cord, but when I took off the 3-prong cord there is only 3 terminal connections that I can attach too. The 4-prong electric cord is color coded - Red, Black, White and Green. I think the green is a ground, and I see where I can connect that to, but is there any order to where the other three (Red, Black, and White) connect to the three positions on the terminal of the dryer??? Thanks!!!!
