I have replaced a belt in the past on my 10 year old washing machine. Pretty sure that one was broken. My machine quit spinning after a load of shoes a few weeks ago. The belt was off the pulley so I put it back on. I assumed the load of shoes was unbalanced and caused the issue. It came off again this morning during a load and then again this afternoon 2 or 3 loads later. Is this likely just due to stretching? a new belt should fix the issue? The bolt holding the large pulley to the drum was a little loose this morning and i tightened it. wondering if that is an indication of another issue. Assuming I need a new belt, I can't seem to be sure I am ordering the correct one. I can't find my washer model # (keeps trying to use UC/01 or something like that instead of 22. Also, none of the belt numbers seem to match what is on my belt - B/S/H 5500 002 576 5PJE 1265. Can you please advise if this sounds like a belt issue and what is the correct replacement. I am pretty sure it makes sense to spend $25 to try a new belt to see if that fixes it before moving to other potential problems. thanks andrew

Hi there, A technician took a 2 minute look at my washer and said that it had a bad belt because he could spin the drum without resistance, but he said it would fost another $150 plus parts to fix it. He didn't open it to check. Replacing the belt on youtube looks as easy as fixing a bike chain. What would I order to get this fixed? Thanks, Jack

We ordered a replacement belt for our Bosch WFR 2460 UC/13 washer serial number FD 8611 700655. The belt we received is Bosch part number 439490 which is supposedly the correct part. It is so tight it will not roll on to the pulleys. The new belt 439490 has these numbers on the belt itself: BSH 5550 010 349 5PJE 1255 The old belt has these numbers: BSH 5500 002 576 5PJE 1255 and it is approximately 1 ½ inches longer than the new belt. Obviously the numbers in the middle are different on the two belts. I know they stretch with time but the old belt stretched on with a little effort. The new belt is so tight I can’t get it half way around the drum pulley and am afraid to break it. Can you tell me the difference in the two belts?

Bill
