Hello, I have a whirlpool side by side refrigerator, model # GC5SHAXVS01. The replacement water filter # is PUR 4396841. I always have trouble replacing water filter, as the water filter doesn't click in by itself. I have to pry the little white button out in order to fully insert the filter. When the filter is in, it is not movable. I usually have to use a screw driver to pop it out when change filter. Because of this problem, I have doubt whether the filter is seated correctly or not. First of all, Even without the water filter, water dispenser works fine. Secondly, when I flush the new water filer, I never see air bubbles or anything. Last and most important, every time I change a water filter after 6 months of usage, the old water filter weights exactly the same as the new filter. I assume the old filter, because it has water in it, would weigh a bit more than a brand new filter. Is that true?
Can you tell whether my water filter is working correctly or not? Is there any simple way to test that it is working? My tap water doesn't have smell or bad taste, so the filtered water taste the same as tap water.
Based on the information that you provided, it sounds like you are not getting the filter into the housing all the way. When you think you have it all the way in give it a good pop on the end and you should hear water rush through it. If you do not then it is not in all the way.
My Bosch dishwasher has a wood front panel that matches the kitchen cabinets. We are replacing the cabinets, and want to replace the front panel and handle with stainless steel. What do you suggest?
Answer Hello Dwayne! Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer a panel for your dishwasher. You will have to contact a local cabinetry business and have a front panel built to the specs needed for your dishwasher. Sorry about that!
The spring has fallen off the lid that slides back and closes the dispenser. it is attached to the timing mechanism but when i attached it to the place i thought it goes it springs back and will not not stay closed, where does the spring attach please?
Answer Hello Rome,
The spring does go on the back side of the detergent door but once it comes off, there is usually a tab that has broken off and the spring will not stay in position. The only fix for this that is permanent is to replace the detergent dispenser assembly. I would supply a part number but could not without the model number for the unit.
