I replaced the water/ice maker water valve, and now it makes a funny sound then dispenses water by it's self, what do I need to do?
Jim for Model Number FLSC238DS6
Answer Jim,
You will want to make sure that the tubing going into the water valve are fully seated and that the water supply does not have a restriction that would cause the icemaker to make the noise. You will also want to make sure that you reconnected the wiring properly. If the wiring is reversed it could cause this type of issue as well. Make sure that tubing is in the correct place as well. Specifically going from the valve to the filter and then back to the valve then to the dispenser.
How do I change refridirator water filter head?
Jason for Model Number frigidaire mrs26lgj
Answer Jason,
To replace the water filter head 218893201 you would first shut off water. Remove the 2 screws that are holding it in place, they are 1/4" hexhead. Once removed there are 2 compression fittings attached to the water lines. Push in on the ring around the tubing and pull the line out. Install in reverse.

I have a pretty new water filter and the base filter looks good but water runs very slow out of the dispenser. I had very hard water for years but now have a softener. could the valve need replacement.
John for Model Number FRS26H5ASB8
Answer Hello John,
You will want to check water valve to make sure that the water is flowing through the valve properly. Check the water reservior to make sure that the reservior does not have build up causing the water to flow slow. Double check to make sure that all the lines are reconnected properly.
There were no instructions or schematics on how to replace this part - 240396002 There were 21 questions which dealt with with difficulty but none with the actual procedure to replace. Can you please provide me with this informaiton? Tks, Steve
Steve for Model Number E23CS75DSS7
Answer Hello Steve. The housing mounted in the food compartment along with the light
and damper assembly must be removed as well. To remove the Control Housing Assembly, remove the
three screws across the front control box and the two
screws located in the rear control box. After removing
cover over water line on front filter models, remove the
screw from the back of the control box. Drop the housing from the unit down to access the lines going into the back of the filter base. Then access the lines coming into the base of the filter head. Press in on the fittings and release the lines from the filter base. Then remove the filter base from the unit. Install the new filter base 240396002 in reverse order.
I moved recently. After hooking up a new 1/4" water hose and installing a new water filter, I only have a VERY small water stream in the door to fill a glass. There seems to be plenty of water pressure and flow at the frig water tube end. Any ideas of why the low water flow?
Phil for Model Number FGTC2349KS1
Answer Hello Phil,
I hate to bring attention to the manufacturers' mistakes, but in this case, to help you solve your issue, I must. It has been brought to my attention several times in the past 5 years or so, that the manufacturers have had some issues with the "curing process" of their filters. If they aren't "cured" properly, a new filter will actually allow less water to pass than an old, ready to be replaced filter. I proved this on my own refrigerator. I removed the "new" filter and reinstalled the old one I had just taken off and, WAH LAH, the water pressure actually increased. I purchased another new filter and the new filter worked fine. This may not be the case for you but, I had to mention it as it is a possibility. The other possibility is if the fresh food compartment is set too warm, since the fans don't run when the compressor is off, the cold air will migrate to the bottom of the unit. This begins the freezing of the water tank. This is actually the only other thing besides a crimped water line that will cause the complaint.

Hi, I am trying to take off the water filter housing in side the fridge. I took off the four philips head screws but cannot unscrew the large screw behind the air filter housing. How can i release that screw? I do not recognize the type.
I am trying to replace the water filter base because i am not getting any water through dispenser. Thanks
Steve for Model Number Electrolux EI23CS55GS1
Answer Hi Steve. Try disconnecting the water line connection under the freezer door. The John guess fitting has round release clips at each end. Press them in as you pull out the lines. Then put the fridge tubing in a deep pan and command for water now. Has the water tank frozen part # 241532006 behind the crisper drawers? Remove it and thaw it slowly in a warm sink water. Set both controls mid way as freezer air can migrate from the bottom of the freezer and back through the air rtn. which is a fixed oval grill. Examine all of this. As far as the large screw, use a plastic putty knife in between the cabinet wall and the housing part # 241755201. Apply light outward pressure as you are removing the long screw. Thank You.
Have water to filter housing installed new filter have no water going in filter.
