How do I install a billows boot on our front load washer? I included a model number and my email address. Frigidaire told me to get the instructions on line, are you able to give them to me?

I need a replacement bellows (door seal) for my Frigidaire Affinity front-loading washer, model #FAFW3001LW0. I see one on your site that looks like it might work. While your site has a replacement part number, there is noting listed to confirm that this bellows will work with my model. After numerous searches, I can't seem to find a Frigidaire parts list, so I have no way of knowing if this part will fit my washer. I've noticed that the rubber seal around the door to my front load washer is molded and is brownish/black, is this a cause of water leaking from the bottom of the door? I need to know what to order to fix the leak and instructions so I can do it myself without paying a technician to come out. My unit is only 1 1/2 year old. PLEASE HELP.. moving to a new house and would like it fixed ASAP!

Answer Hillary, Besides replacing the bellows assembly 134515300 for mold and mildew, you want to check and make sure you are using the proper type and amount of laundry detergent and softner. The mold and the leak at the door could indicate an improper break down of detergent or softner and or sudsing, causing the appearance of a leak from the door and the mold in the bellows.

We too are having a mildew issue to the point where it sometimes leaves marks on the clothing. I believe this is caused because of the lack of drain holes or drain holes becoming cloged in the bellow. I was wondering if the replacement part # AP3869103 has more or larger drain holes. Also is this the right part number for my FWFB9200ES0? Second, how difficult is it to replace the bellow and are there any other parts I would need? If I take this apart and can not get it back together my wife will have me shopping for new matching washer dryer. Thank you!

The bellows on my washer has a mildew or mold smell. It's terrible. I was considering replacing it, but some of these questions ask about removing, cleaning, and reinstalling it. I've tried the tablets that were recommended by someone at Sears. They made no difference in the smell. Is it possible to eliminate the odor through cleaning? If so, what's the best method?

Answer Hello Matt, You could run a clean cycle which is to run the unit through a normal wash with nothing in it. Use a cup of bleach and use the hottest temp setting. You may have to do this a couple of times depending on how bad smell is. You also want to make sure that when the unit is not in use to keep door cracked open so it can get air flow. Also after you are done with laundry make sure that you wipe out the bellow to keep water from sitting in it.
