What would cause my dryer to squeal loudly when its turned on then will go away, after a while. Its a frigidaire affinity dryer
Answer Mike, a worn belt would slip and make noise at the start of a cycle, then once running the noise could cease. Also make sure the dryer and washer are not being overloaded, and that the machines are in a temperature controlled room, If the room gets too cold, the belts will get hard, and slip on the pulleys, until it warms up.
the barrel doesn'tturn regularly with a average load could the belt be stretched
Answer John, Yes the drive belt 134051003 could be stretched. It's not a very common issue, but it is possible. You also want to check the four(4) motor mount screws, and make sure they're tight, as well. Thanks
I replaced the belt but it seems to stay on the tub side of the pulley. Maybe just a little off the pulley in that direction. Is that normal?
Answer Hi Phil. No you will need to "Center the belt" part # 134051003 rides on the top pulley correctly. You do this by slowly adjusting it one rib back on the motor pulley. Then slowly turn the tub pulley both ways to help it realign itself correctly. I have seen them factory misaligned. Thank You.
Why my washer doesn't spin out. It does everything else, it drains, it fills, it washes. But it will not spin out, Please Help
Answer Hello Dororthy. If the unit does not spins and just slowly turns during the spin cycle, it sounds like the door lock assembly 131763202 is bad on the unit and will need to be replaced. If it does not read bad to the board, the unit will wash and drain, but will not reach high speed spin.
How do you put a new belt on? I read the response the same question but this seems impossible.
Answer Hello Kristy. You will need to remove the back access panel. Then place the belt onto the motor shaft and roll the belt 134051003 onto the spinner pulley. You will want the groved side of the belt to be down on the pulley. These are very tight to install, but can be done. Hope this helps.
The washer starts to spin andthen acts like it locks up and stops. If I stop the machine and open the door and turn the inside and start it again, it will start spinning untill it gets to that spot or section and stop again. What could this be? (A streched belt maybe)
Answer Hi Barbara. Is the washer giving any fault codes? What cycle position does it stop in? In the top or the side inside the machine, there are tech.sheets that will be able for you to put it into a field test mode to pinpoint the area in which the problem exists. Such as the pump or the motor. Is the door latch defective? Is the pump clear? Without loading any soap, Put in 3 or 4 towels and start the machine in reg. wash. Observe to see if the machine has soap in it as you may be over soaping and need to cut back on the soap. If there is too much soap then it wont pump out and eventually shut down. Is the cold water inlet valve/hose clogged? Let us know how to help further. Thank you.
Washer will not high speed spin at the end of rinse cycle.
Answer Hello Nancy. You will need to check and see if the door lock assembly 131763202 is bad. If it is bad, it can cause the problems your having. Hope this helps.
