A month ago, I resolved an issue regarding loss of programing ability, as well as random starts and stops and bogus displays by replacing the main controller board. The dishwasher has worked flawlessly since... until yesterday, when it started on its own. It has gotten progressively worse. Now, if the power is turned on to the unit, it will sit idle for a minute or two, then start on its own. It displays the "96" wash time, as well as the lights for the last program setting, just as it should if it were being turned on. However, it now rapidly cycles on and off several times, occasionally stopping for several minutes. When stopped, the LEDs beneath the time display will flash.
I opened the unit up and checked the connections to the controller board. I removed the touch pad ribbon cable and cleaned the conductors. Yet, the rapid on/off problem persists. I programmed the "Service/Test" by simultaneously pressing the NO HEAT DRY and START/CANCEL buttons. The unit cycled through the sequence perfectly until it reached step-7, which is the DRAIN cycle. It then started the rapid on-off cycling again, at which point I just shut off the power. Does it sound as though the newly installed controller board is corrupted? Or has a mysterious short developed in the touchpad?
Based on the description, it sounds like the control board may be faulty. You will also want to check to make sure that there is not water leaking from the vent that could potential cause this issue. Make sure that the seal is good and look for signs of leaks around it.
My dishwasher is showing 00 i reset the circuit breaker and it will start to work for a few mins than shut off and display the code again 00 not sure if I should replace the mother board of the touch pad?
Answer Hello Steve,
The 00 error code indicates a stuck or shorted key pad or ribbon cable. Disconnect the ribbon cable and reconnect it and check operation. There is no reset sequence. You should also check the door switch operation to confirm voltage to the control board. Recheck all the connections on the control board.
During a regular wash cycle about 34 minutes in machine will flash PF. If you restart it will only run like 3 minutes then flash PF again. Where should I start?
Answer Hello Stan,
You will want to check the unit power supply for loss of power during unit operation. The PF error code indicates a loss of power of more than 10 percent. Check to make sure that you are getting a constant 120 vac when the unit is getting this error code. If the power supply checks ok then you will want to check the wiring in the unit for short to ground.
