Board control has a loose clip and no light on the display and ice and water do not dispense. Two lead wires and one clip on was off on inspection? How is this part installed?
Answer Keith, your first check needs to be at the freezer door hinge, Remove power to the refrigerator and check the dispenser wiring harness to make sure you don't have any loose or damaged connections or wires. All models with a touch selection on the front will have a
electronic control behind the front panel of the dispenser. Two gain access to the control area you will need to pull the
drip tray out first. With the drip tray removed, remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel. Lift up on the front panel, there are tabs on the top of the panel that slide into holes in the door panel. Swing panel out to side, being careful not to pull the wires
out of the disconnect plug or the board itself. Carefully unplug the wiring harness from the touch panel on the front cover. This will give you access to the control board. On models with electronic control to gain access to the control, snap the light socket loose and remove the 6 small screws from the board. Pull board straight out of housing. Disconnect plug on left side of board. Disconnect 4 wires to dispenser actuator switches. With the board removed, you can now visually inspect the three boards, for damage, burn marks etc.
I also have a kitchenaide dishwasher that leaks at the bottom of both sides of the door. I did replace the gasket around the tub but now it leaks more than it did before. Could I have received the wrong part or is there something else that could have been bad also? I did follow your instructions for the ice maker and it will need a new auger motor. I will order it once I find out the answer to my other question also. Thanks,
Answer Kate, did you order and receive [W10112096] , if so you have the correct part number. Now what you need to check is the lower wash arm assembly for debris and possible cracks in the arms, causing water to be directed at the bottom of the door. Check and make sure the dishwasher is not overfilling due to a sticky float or fill valve(the water level after the 5 minute fill and wash, should not be above the bottom edge of the tub door opening). and check the door hinges and door hinge pins on the frame for possibly being bent or distorted.
Thanks and Good Luck
