A piece of rubber looking much like a seal tore off the bottom of the door of the dishwasher. The dishwasher now leaks onto the floor. The part looks like a seal of some sort. Is that the same thing as the Frigidaire 154576501 bottom gasket? I would like to purchase and replace the part on my own as the current owners are very elderly and unable fix it on their own. Is there any other part or supply I may need to fix the leak? Thank you so much!

I have replaced the tub gasket and added the splash shield kit AP4338941. I have the door cover off but still can not figure out how to remove the old bottom door seal. The new one has what looks like a track it should fit in. With the door cover off I can only see approx 2 inches on each side, it looks like its covered by plastic. Do I have to take the door completely off? Mine also leaks through the middle of that bottom door seal.

I had new floors installed and they started Buckling. When we pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet it was in we found it was leaking from a cracked nut gasket and from the bottom of the door. I need help fixing these issues,It's caused a lot of damage. It sounds like this is a very bad design.

I noticed a gasket hanging down on the lower inner side of the door of my dishwasher. It is about 1/4 wide. It might be seperated from a larger portion. I don't have any leaks while operating. I guess this keeps water from entering into the gap on the door and getting inside the door? If I disassemble the door to replace this, should I consider repalcing any other parts at the same time. I would appreciate any recomendations.

I replaced the door seal and the tub gasket because of water leaking from the bottom of the door. The door continued to leak from the middle of the door. The seal only fits into the door slot one way, and it was properly seated. So I called a repairman. He was here 2 minutes. The seal is not meant to "seal" the door water tight, just hold off water that accumulates in the bottom of the tub if the float doesn't work. In our case, the sprayer arm had a hole in it and the water was spraying directly at the door. I replaced the sprayer arm and no more leaks. Hopefully this helps someone else get an answer without the added cost of the repairman.

Have received the door gasket. My problem: I cannot get the existing gasket out. I can barely grip it. It does not come. I have tried putting hot water on it. I have tried working a thin spatula along it. That removed some gook, but freed nothing. What should I do?

Saw all the other question posts and thought I'd sum it up and add my experiences. The seal can only be put into the door one way. It has a notch cut into it which fits over a plastic lip that exists only on one side of the seal slot in the door. No brainer. Bottom of door is made to leak water around this bottom door seal (that's why the middle of this seal is cut out... to allow the water back into the main dishwasher tub). But, common problem is it allows too high a velocity of flow to come through and to splash out within the front door cover and down onto the floor. This must be why they made the "splash guard" kit (AP4338941) which you will definitely need and which is what fixed my leakage problem. IMHO it's a terrible design, but this is what we have to work with.
