Just installed a new Oven control/clock assembly part # 318012903. Set the clock and pushed the oven button. Error Code F-3 appeared.
Does anyone know what F-3 refers to and how to fix/delete it?
The F3 error code is an error with the oven sensor. You will want to check the resistance at room temperature and if less than 1090 ohms replace then replace the Oven sensor. If the sensor checks ok then you will want to check the harness between the clock and oven sensor to make sure that it is good.
Do you carry the overlay for the electronic even control. The one on this page is the the right one.
Answer Hello A.J.,
When the overlay is not illustrated in the parts explosion it will be included with the clock assembly. I'm sorry to inform you of this, but the manufacturer has made the overlay unavailable by itself and the clock assembly will have to be ordered to obtain the overlay.
I have seen video to replace the clock when the panel is on the back of the unit, how difficult is it when the clock/display is on the front of the unit of a drop in with no back? Is the front panel accessible to the do-it-yourselfer?
Answer Hello Mike,
This shouldn't be too difficult. You should be aware that the power needs to be turned off to the unit before starting. In this configuration, it is very easy to hit a hot wire on ground in this process. The screws should be lined up across the bottom of the control panel and the door will have to be opened to access them. They screw in straight up. There may be a couple of screws on each end and the control panel sometimes just hooks into position, depending on the configuration. Of course, once you get the control panel off, it's obvious how to get the control out. Remember to turn off the power first and wear gloves to prevent personal injury.
I figured out that I need this part to replace the clock and elctronic oven control panel: FRIGIDAIRE AP2127094
I am usually able to fix things. Is it easy to replace? Thanks very much for any help you can give me.
Answer Hello Betsy. Yes, disconnect the power and remove the back panel of the control panel. Next remove the screws holding the old clock in place and remove the clock. Then install the new clock 318012903 and remove the wires from the old one and install them onto the new one. Reinstall the back and reconnect the power. Hope this helps.
