My Fridgedaire stove model fefs52dsd display does not light up. The elements work but the burner indication lights dont work, and the display does not light up. I can not turn the stove on. What is the problem?
Holly G for Model Number FEFS52DSD
Answer Hello Holly,
If the lights for the burners do not light up then you would want to check using multi-meter for 120vac between P and L2 on the burner switches. If there is 120 vac then the switch 316436000 is good. Also check the control board for 120vac between L1 and pin 4 of the 6 pin connector. If you have 120 vac then control 316557115 is defective. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Hello, I have changed my bake element on my Frigidaire stove and does not work, neither does the broil. What can be the problem?
Thank You

Answer Hello Gudio. Check and make sure there is 240 volts coming to the unit and no wires are burnt on the unit. If not, and the element is new, you will need to order and replace the clock assembly 316557115 on the unit.
My oven heats up hotter on one side then the other.

Answer Hello Leslie,
The first thing I must ask is, do you have any aluminum foil inside the unit? I know people are funny about their cooking habits and take offense easily, but you have to realize that a stove is man overcoming the laws of nature to control the climate inside the unit. You see, putting foil on the bottom or on a shelf (rack) to catch spills changes the air flow inside the unit. There is also a vent under the control panel where the air is allow to exit to set up an air flow to "mix" the temperatures inside the bake compartment. This is all to prevent hot spots inside the bake compartment. If you notice, the bottom of the oven door gasket has a gap in it. This gap is the air inlet. The vent under the control panel is just off center and if an item is setting in front of it, this also can affect the air flow.
If there is no foil inside the unit, the only measure that can be taken is to replace the bake element 316075104 in case it has become defective.
How do you replace the front of the clock timer? It is glued to the part.

Answer Hello Donald,
I use my pocket knife to get the overlay off. Be aware not to grab the edge and peel it off because it is easy to damage. I use my knife in a twisting manner to force the overlay off without creasing it. It's normally sticky enough to stick to the new clock. It only has to stick there long enough to get it installed. Once it's installed, it cannot move because it has some pressure put on it between the control panel and the clock.
Oven won't heat up on bake but heats up on broil. Any help would be appraciated.

Answer Hello Adam. Test the bake element and make sure it reads closed for continuity. If it is good, and the wiring is good and not burnt, then you will need to replace the clock 316557115 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
