My clothes are shrinking no matter whether I use the automatic settings or timed. The back of the(electric) dryer gets very hot. I have changed the thermostat with no effect. I have dismantled and cleaned out the entire unit and exhaust line. Any suggestions as to what to try next? Thanks.
Answer Gidtanner, First check the resistance across the two brass colored terminals on the thermostat 134048800 this is the bias heater circuit in the thermostat, which is activated when med. or low heat is selected. No resistance indicates the bias heater has failed. Then check the resistor located at the fabric selector switch, it should have a resistance of 2 to 2.5K ohms if the resistor is intact. The back of the dryer will get extremely warm, the heater element and diffuser are mounted to the back panel of the dryer, so it's going to be normal. If the vent system is too long or restricted, even though it was cleaned, that could be part of the issue as well. You may have to disconnect the exhaust vent and check the exhaust temperature with a thermometer or meter. We'd expect to see an average temperature of 120 to 130 degrees F. on the low temp setting. If all checks are OK, you'll need to start looking at the washer.
Dryer has heat, but takes 3 hours to dry.
Answer Hello Erv. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly.
Spin cycle on the washer does not work. Washer drains Ok but does not spin. Belt is OK. I took the front off and the motor was hot. Any ideas? Thanks
Answer Howard, Check and make sure the lid is locked 134101800 if the lid lock switch does not have a closed(locked) circuit, the washer will not spin. You'll also need to check the water level switch 134493500 and air tube that connects to it. The water level switch, has to reset to the empty position for the washer to spin, if the air tube is clogged with debris, or the switch is faulty, it won't spin. If all's OK and the washer does fill agitate and drain, then the isuue would be in the timer131788300.
SIGNAL BEEPER GOES OFF DURING CYCLE AND WHEN UNIT IS OFF
Answer Ronny, It's not likely that the moisture sensor control board is causing the issue. Could you please repost your question with a proper model and serial number, so we can asist you properly and efficiently. Thanks
I'm trying to ignite the power light and I need help doing so please help
Answer Xavier, We believe you're discussing the ignition system on your dryer. You do not have a "pilot light" on your burner assembly. You have an electronic ignition, and you will need to check to see if the igniter is broken or cracked, and check the flame sensor for a "closed" circuit, ay room temperature. If this is not the case, please re post your question, with more details, Please. Thanks
