I was about to replace the defrost control on my fridge when I realized the was a red/yellow wire that was not hooked up to anything. I can't figure out where it goes. Any ideas.
Answer Hello Chelsey. The only yellow/red listed on your model is the auger motor. Check and see if the wire color you provided is correct. It is not showing it in the control panel. Thanks.
WHERE IS THE DEFROST CONTROL LOCATED
The places that the defrost control would most likely be would be in the refrigerator compartment under the cover on the left wall or when you remove the lower grill of the refrigerator it would be on the frame on the left side near the door hinge.
My freezer will not freeze things. It works part of the time then quits. There is a buzzing noise that comes from the back of the fridge.
You will first want to check to see if the condenser fan motor is operational and that the coils are clean. If the fan motor is not working it will cause the compressor to overheat and will cause the buzzing noise. You will also want to check your start relay to make sure that the relay is not burnt. If it is then you will need to replace the relay. If all this checks ok and relay has no burn marks and doesn't rattle then the compressor would be faulty and need to be replaced.
My freezer only gets cold not freezing and the frig size is barely.
Answer Hello Balm,
You will want to check to see if the freezer rear wall has frost build up. If so you will need to remove the rear cover of the freezer wall and check the defrost heater 242044113 and the bimetal 5303918214 for continuity. If either component does not have continuity then that part would need to be replaced. If both check ok then you would need to replace the defrost control 242011001.
