The refrigerator is making a noise that seems to be coming from the location of the damper assy. The noise stops as soon as the door is opened. The noise varies often but it sounds like something like a bearing going out. It is a whirling that varies in pitch and loudness. I thought I would need to replace the damper assy, but I wanted to ask first. Also, is there a way to repair the assy or do you have to replace the whole unit? Is the correct damper assy 241600906? Thanks for your help.

The frig started making this clicking sound, driving me crazy. Sounds like a fan with something in it. I took the assembly off and think that it is item label 115 making the noise. What do you think?

The Damper control assembly started making a perculating noise and the refrigerator side is warmer than it should be. I pulled the damper off and it looks like its been chewed up. Even with the damper off and the refrigerator running there is not any air flow from the freezer to refrigerator. Do I have other problems than just the damper?

The side refrigerator stopped cooling and freezer side also began to lose temperature and the ice began to melt. I removed the ice from the ice maker. I removed all the things that were in the refrigerator and freezer. I kept the fridge plugged in, turned the temperature button FRESH FOOD and noticed where is located the damper control heard the noise of a running start and then the sound off. On the side of freezer temperature is sufficient to maintain fresh food like a refrigerator. The temperature at the side of the refrigerator fails to cool the water. What will stopped to maintain the temperature on both sides.

I noticed items in the freezer were thawing. The control on the fridge side is blinking 4. I have tried reseting the temps, but both sides continue to warm. The unit is still producing ice cubes, but I removed the ice tray, as the cubes just melt in the freezer. Should I start by replacing the damper control?
