Freezer side works great. Frig not cooling as needed 50 degrees. Some frost billed up under damper cover. No noise. By other q&a,s I'm wondering if I will need more than a damper. Is it hard to replace?
If the damper is not opening it will cause a frost build up in that area and it does sound like the damper is faulty. To replace the damper you would need to remove the control panel and the panel that runs over the damper. These are held in by 1/4" hex head screws. Once removed you pull the assembly out and remove the damper and install the new one. The part number you would need if there are 2 switches on the damper is 241600902.
Can you send me some type of instruction on how the install the part?
Answer Hello Finton. You need to unplug the unit and remove the screws securing the controls to the top of the unit. Also, remove the screws in the side cover for the damper. Once removed, drop the controls down and unsnap the side cover from the control panel. Now you can remove the side cover and replace the damper attached to the side cover.
The little window in the damper I have to opening or this open automatic?
Answer Hello Jorge. The door should open and close automatically in the unit.
WHICH PLug should i testohms on.....black and blue? going to the silver housing to the damper ?
You would test the ohms on the motor housing of the damper assembly which would be the 2 wires that connect to the metal housing.
