Hi, Haven't a clue how to replace this, but willing to give it a try. Do I take the whole door apart? Does the part come with instructions?
Answer Hello Laurel,
This is not a difficult job. Turn the power off to the unit and verify that no power is present. Open the door and remove the screws around the inner door panel. When you seperate the panels, you will see that the unit has two wires and six screws holding it in. Be sure not to over-tighten the screws since they thread into plastic. Don't forget the gasket that comes with the new part 154574401!
Is there a video that shows how to replace the dispenser assemble part #AP3958766?
Answer Hello Mojo. Sorry, Not at this time. We are working daily at adding new videos. Thank you.
I poked a hole in the soap dispenser. Do I need to replace the door panel too or just the dispenser. Thanks.
Answer Stephanie, the dispenser is part number 154574401. If the inner panel was punctured it will need to be replaced as well, part number is 154299004. Thanks!
Hi, I am just wondering if this is the correct soap disperser for my dishwasher?
Answer Hello Brendan! Yes, the dispenser assembly 154574401 is the correct replacement for Frigidaire FDB221* dishwasher models. Thanks!
Washer going through it's cycle does not always use the soap.
Answer Hello Mike. If the dispenser does not alway open, you will need to check and make sure the latch assembly for the door is good and clean. If so, replace the dispenser assembly 154574401. Hope this helps.
How can I remove the old to re-install the new?
Answer Hello! Disconnect dishwasher from power supply. You will need to remove the door panel. The outer door panel is mounted to the inner door
panel by Phillips head screws. Removing the outer door panel will expose sharp edges on the inner door panel. Be sure to support outer door as screws are removed to prevent damage to outer panel and dishwasher. Remove any wiring harnesses from controls and ground
connection on door panel. Remove six screws securing dispenser assembly to inner door panel. Retainer brackets on the top
and bottom may also need to be removed. Install in reverse order. Hope this helps!
