The pump will not completely drain the unit, only partially. I want to check the voltage feeding the pump while its draining. Also thought I'd pull wires from motor and connect 120 volts to it and see if if ran (if it takes 120v and not go through a transformer). Thanks so much. David
Answer Hello David,
The pumps 154580301 on these are rather prone to failure. Before replacing it though, I would remove the hose from it that comes from the tub and see if it is restricted. While this hose is off, reach inside the pump with a small screwdriver to verify that the impeller is still attached to the motor shaft. This is verified by turning the impeller and if it is attached, you will feel the magnetic field of the motor windings. This all, of course, is with power turned off to the unit. If the unit still doesn't drain after the drain lines are verified, the drain pump should be replaced. This is a 120Vac motor.
How do I change the Drain Pump assembly? Are instructions available? What tools are required?
Answer Hi Glen. This is a relitively easy change out. Remove the front panel. The drain pump is in the front of the sump/motor assy. Remove the intake and the drain hose. Then the pump hanger is clipped into a boss area from the tub assy. It is unclipped from there and removed altogether. Pump part # 154580301. Thank You.
my frigidaire kicks off and gives a power failure error at the time the water is suppose to drain. Could the pump be defective?
Answer Dusty, Yes, the drain pump motor could be at fault or even jammed or clogged with debris. This would cause an increase in the amprage, and cause the machine to shut down and give an error code. Thanks and Good Luck
Pump won't quit even though all the water is pumped out. It only stops when the door is opened, but starts immediatly after the door is closed.
Answer Hello Dan. Check and make sure the float is not stuck in the up position in the unit. If not, and there is power to the pump, replace the control board 807024601. Hope this helps.
my washer willnot drain removed motor motor will run on bench could it be a switch dish waher is only 3 years old hardly used thanks jack
Answer Jack, Did you also check and make sure there were no clogs in the drain hose or disposal. Did you check the filters and strainers in the bottom of the tub for debris or deposits. Can you hear the drain pump motor run, if you start, then cancel the cycle. Also, check and make sure the vanes on the impeller inside the drain pump, is not damaged or loose on the motor shaft. Thanks and Good Luck
My dishwasher is five years young because it isnt used much but it is so loud I cant continue to use it. It works fine... Could it be the pump assy that needs replacing?
Answer Hello Sidney. If the noise is during the drain cycle, then yes it could be the pump, but if it is during the washer cycle, you may need to replace the motor 154859101. Hope this helps.
The noise from the machine is very loud. It washes ok is that the pump assy?
Answer Hello Sam. If the noise is during the drain cycle, then yes it could be the pump, but if it is during the washer cycle, you may need to replace the motor 154859101. Hope this helps.
