We had a glass break in the dishwasher. Took out all we could find. Now it won't discharge any water. It hummes or buzzes for about a minute when it should be pumping out water. Can a small piece of glass get in the pump and jam it? Can pump be dis-assembled and cleaned or just replaced? If replacing pump is needed, do I need any additional parts to complete the installation? Thanks Lynn

Answer Hello Lynn. You can remove the pump, but you will need to uninstall the dishwasher and do this from the bottom of the unit. Once uninstalled, lay the dishwasher on it's back and remove the drain pump, and see if there is anything clogged inside. If so, clear it out where the impeller turns freely and reinstall the part, and test. Hope this helps.

Impeller on the dishwasher drain pump went bad. Ordered 5304463777 and replaced the unit. Dishwasher still not draining. Verified no obstructions on intake or drain lines. Verified power from timer. Getting 21.8 ohms across pump leads and open to chassis ground. Any suggestions?
Ogre for Model Number FDB510LCS0
Answer Hello Ogre,
You will want to check the filter to make sure that it is not clogged and also check down in the sump to make sure that there is no obstuction in the sump that is causing unit to not drain. Check to make sure that pump is getting power at the pump. You have already verified timer sending power. Check for broken or loose wires.
Just had an incident. Dishwasher is not draining. I have read the posts only question. What position of rotation should I have the switch while testing for power to the pump?
Mw for Model Number FDB710CS0
Answer Hi Mw. Just before OFF- the pump will go into a 2 minute drain. Open the door and advance the timer clockwise to one notch before off. Have you're meter lead prongs already set on the pump connector (with the pump disconnected). If you ohm out the drain pump to 28 ohms and each lead to pump chassis to see if the windings are shorted. If they are shorted then replace the pump part # [AP43618633]. If the impeller is spinning loose on the shaft - replace it also. Disconnect the drain hose under the sink and see if the restriction is there at the sink end. Thank You.
Have replaced pump on dishwasher part#ap4318633 dishwasher still does not empty. Have looked for obstruction in hose. Only has a little trickle of water that comes out when unit tries to empty.
Jake for Model Number FDP635RFR3
Answer Hello Jake. Based on the model number you provided, you have installed the wrong kit, and will need to order 5304475805. It comes with a new drain hose, which based on the information you provided, sounds like what you will need for the unit. Hope this helps.
My dishwasher is draining all but about the cup or so of water in the bottom below the screen - as if a check valve isn't preventing water from flowing back into the bottom of the tub. I know the pump is working since I can see water being forced into the garbage disposal. Does this part appears to have a check flap? Can I order just the flap?
Michael for Model Number pldb998ac1
Answer Hi Michael. Follow your installation instructions about the drain hose routing. Loop it under the sink as high up under the sink as possible and clamp it there (1/2 " conduit clamp and screw). Then taught into the sink drain. Make sure the sink drain has no partial clog where it hooks up. Use dishwasher magic monthly to keep wash levels up. Dish. Magic part # TJ104. Drain pump kit part # 5304463777. They do not sell the flapper check valve separate. Thank You.
