What heating coil do I need? Thanks.
Answer Ricky, the restring kit listed for your model is part number 5300622034. Thanks!
Change a coil heater and some thing shorted out. Want did I do wrong?
Answer Hello Brad. It sounds like when you replaced the coil, you had some of it touching the metal housing. This will cause the unit to short out. When replacing the element, you must make sure it does not touch the metal housing on the unit.
How to Find & Install Heating Element for this dryer
Answer Hello Muggs. 131553900 is the correct element. You will need to remove, the top, the front panel and door assembly, and drum, disconnect the wires to the element and thermostats, then on the back of the cabinet, you'll need to remove the four(4) retaining screws, that attach the element and housing to the rear of the cabinet. Here's some basic help : Unplug the power cord or remove power to the dryer. Insert a flat tool or putty knife between the top and the front panel and press in on the two spring clips holding the top and raise it. Remove the one screw from each side, located about 6 inches down from the top that holds the front panel to the side panel, release the clips holding the front panel to the side panels and gently lean the panel forward, disconnect the wires to the door switch and drum light, etc. Remove the rear louvered access panel, and remove the drum belt by releasing the tension on the idler pulley. Using the belt raise the rear portion of the drum to release the "ball" from the "hitch" and move the dryer out the front of the cabinet. Disconnect and label the wires from the element, thermostats, etc. From the rear of the dryer, remove the four(4) screws securing the heater assembly to the rear of the cabinet. reverse the procedure(s) and test the dryer for heat and operation.
What is the correct heating element for my dryer?
Answer Chris, the element only is part number . Thanks!
1) I have a Frigidaire Gallery Commercial Heavy Duty dryer. I cannot find a model or serial number. Is there one, and if so, where would I find it?
2) This dryer dries clothes but takes forever, and doesn't get very hot. Is there a high and low heating element in this unit? I think the high heat element is burned out. Can I replace it?
Answer Hello hardlyhandy. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. We will need your model number to help you more with this.
