Water system was working fine, until I replaced the water filter since it was very old. Now when I use the water filter cup overflows immediately. When I take the cup out and press the water button to see what is happening I can see the water shooting out the top side of the filter. I ordered the correct type of filter and the filter definitely seems to be sturdy and in place. It doesn't seem like the o ring would have anything to do with it since it is up high above the ridges when you screw in the cup. Thank you!

I just replaced my water filter housing because the old one cracked. I replaced it with an aftermarket filter housing and cap w/ Oring. I turned on the water supply and began to fill a cup with water and the filter housing just overflows with water. I tried switching my in and out lines and still does the same thing. Is it possible the Oring that came with the housing is defective? Or could it be one of the valves in the back of the refrigerator? Thanks for any help or advice anyone could give me

I recently have noticed water overflowing from the filter cup. I took out the filter completely and even tried a new filter. I can run multiple cups of water through and nothing overflows. Only when the fridge sits for a couple hours without doing anything do we notice the water slowly start dripping from the top of the cup and down the sides. Could it be the O-ring? or is it probably the whole housing? O Ring doesn't look damaged and looks fine.

Purchased and replace broker filter housing. Now water dispenser works. Ice maker goes through cycle. but no water goes into unit and no ice. Water now goes through the door dispenser. Frs23KE4A, No water goes into the ice maker which appears to go through a complete cycle. So, now that I spent $35; do I need a valve-pump and what is the cost?

We need to replace the outside cover for the filter. When my husband took it out, the Styrofoam that was surrounding the water lines was broken into pieces. Do we need to get new styrofoam and if so where do we purchase it to fit inside the filter/water line area? Thanks!

Thank you for your answer to my original question -- Replaced the cracked filter housing with yours -- water dispenser very slow, no ice (yes, I moved the arm back down so it would start making ice again). What can I do? It worked fine before I replaced the filter housing. Asked by Leah for Model FRS23R4AQ6 Hello Leah. Make sure the water lines going into the filter housing are connected correctly. If so, you may need to replace the filter AP2539088 in the unit if it was not replaced when the housing AP3363492 was replaced. --- Yes, the water connections clicked into place and fit tightly, and it was a new filter (the correct one). Now what? Thanks, Leah
