This is a 70s era frigidaire upright freezer that the door gasket is bad 30 3/4 x 53 1/2. Is there a replacement available?
Answer Hello Matt! The gasket listed for your model is part number ER5307512516. Unfortunately, this item has been discontinued with no further replacements or cross references available and our company is unaware of any other available sources. Sorry about that!
Is there an entire door assembly part number for this model as I've seen in other Frigidaire models? (FFTR1713LW)
There is not a complete door assembly for this unit. You would need to purchase each part individually.
Does the door have to be removed to replace the gasket and are the liner screws to be barely snug or tight.
The door does not have to be removed but you would want to loosen the screws when removing the gasket and installing new gasket. When tightening the screws they do not have to be real tight but a medium tightness.
Do instructions come with the door gasket repair part?
Answer Hello Pinky. No, the door gasket 216522312 does not come with instructions. You will need to remove the door from the unit. Then remove the screws securing the inner door liner and remove the gasket. Start at the corners and install the new gasket. Be sure and seat it properly under the door liner. Once installed, you may need to heat the gasket with a hair dryer to for a good seal. Be careful not to melt the gasket while heating it. Hope this helps.
