My ice maker makes a grinding sound sometimes. I was going to replace it with a new ap3851327 but that has a flat 4 pin wiring harness and mine has a square 9 pin with 7 wires. Is there an adapter harness or a wiring schematic to convert it?

Ice maker quit. Replaced fill valves. Ice maker was frozen. Thawed, but still no ice. How do you remove ice maker?

Answer Hello H. Remove the ice bucke assembly from the freezer. You will need to remove the screws securing the ice maker inside the unit. Then you will pull out the ice maker and unplug the wires going from the ice maker to the unit. Hope this helps.

Before I replaced the ice maker I checked the 120v solenoid I took it out and put 120 across the coil it opened. I replaced the ice maker and I got no water the water valve was open and the arm was down to start the process. Is there a time lapes before water starts to flow? I checked the voltage down at the solenoid and only got 24v but there was 120v coming into the ice maker. I checked the connections in the back they seemed ok. Where do I go next? I don't have a schematic.

Answer Hello John. The icemaker 241642501 does not call for water until almost the end of the cycle. You will need to test through the whole cycle. If there is no voltage, you will need to replace the icemaker. Hope this helps.

Why is there white plastic pieces in my ice some are large pieces?

Answer Hello Debbie. You will need to check and see if the plastic is coming from the icemaker 241642501 or from the dispenser bucket. If it is coming from the icemaker, you will need to replace the icemaker in the unit. If it is coming from the bucket, you will need to check and see what is broken on the bucket assembly. I have a Kenmore fridge, model 25378249700. The ice maker came installed and is just over 3 years old. Ice maker has stopped working. Is it time to replace? If so, what model and how easy is the replacement?

The ice maker is squrting water seems to be coming from a small hole under the ice maker can see the water when it ice maker arm comes up to signal for water to fill the ice cube maker. I first noticed the problem when the ice maker dumps a solid sheet of ice..and when the ice tray is removed there is a frozen water fall of water outside the ice tray

THERE ARE 2 ADULTS THAT LIVE HERE. AND @ EVERY 2 WEEKS WE RUN OUT OF ICE. IT IS LIKE THE ICE MAKER MAKES ENOUGH ICE FOR A FEW WEEKS AND THEN DOES NOT MAKE AS MUCH. THAT IS WHEN HAVE TO GO BUY A BAG OF ICE TO SEE US THROUGH. THE ICE MAKER HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE. THIS REFRIG.IS 1 YEAR OLD AS OF 10/2011. CAN YOU MAKE SOME SUGGESTIONS?

Answer Hi Star. If you have not changed the water filter every 6-mos. then this will greatly affect the amount of ice or amt. of dispenser water. Water filter part # ULTRAWF. Is the ice maker level ? Level the unit front to back and side to side. Make sure the water line at the back is not kinked. Get in the habit of watching the ice bin and making sure it does not overflow. If so , just turn it off and use half of the bin?ice. Then turn it back on. If not then a cube will get over the top and create a issue. If there is a stuck cube in the ejector blades it will take a few cycles to self clear itself. Shut the arm off and reach in and dislodge the cube. All these suggestions need checked first. Do you have a volt /ohm meter so we can proceed further ? If not it is part # TJMA-DM1. Thank You.

Is the ice maker motor included in the ice maker kit part 241642501? The ice maker froze up and would not empty the ice. After thawing it out, now it will not fill up with water. Any ideas?
