It will make ice but only in the first few slots. Water supply is good. I thawed it out in hope something was frozen but that didn't work
Answer Mark, A proper model number of the product would be a great help. But, basically there's an issue with the water supply. You probably want to start by replacing the water inlet valve. Your ice maker, when the fill cycle is activated should supply 4 to 4.5 oz. of water and fill all 8 of the cube molds in 10 seconds or less. Also check and make sure the filter is clean or replaced(if equipped) and the tubes aren't twisted or kinked.
My ice maker stripper part broke off, and now the ice maker wont work at all, (no water fills in it) is this the only problem or is something else wrong. I don't want to buy a $20 part if the whole thing needs replaced. Thanks!
Answer Michelle, A broken ice stripper would not normally cause an ice maker to fail, but. If the stripper jammed the rake arm, that could cause more issues, burnt out motor or switches. At this point, you may want to replace the ice maker 5989JA0002Y,
Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful
My ice maker jams. The cube closest to the rear of the fridge jams in the ice stripper. Could you advise what part or parts are needed to resolve the problem?
Answer Hello Bill! You will need to replace the icemaker assembly. Your part number is 5304458371. Thanks!
