The ice maker you were looking at will have a different wiring configuration. The one you need is a D7824706Q. It is cheaper than the one you were looking at and is a drop in replacement.

Ice Machine does not work, where do I look to start a fix on it ?
Answer Hi Ken. What model # do you have ? Is it a Kenmore product ? Are you referring to a refrigerator ice maker ? If so the look at the top of the cube area to see if the ejector blades have gotten stuck sideways? If so this will stop production. Is there a cube stuck half way popped out ? Is the unit level ? Are you getting water out of the dispenser if so equipped ? Are you getting water to the ice maker ? Take the front white cover and See if the front 2- gears are not broken. You can tape the door switch closed. Use a insulated piece of 14 gauge - 3" wire to advance the ice maker into a fill cycle. Insert the wire in the "t" and "h" terminals and watch the lg. gear advance from the 5;00 position to the 7:00 position. There is a black indicator mark on the outer side of the large gear. Now remove the jumper wire and the ice maker will automatically advance on its own. Between 3:00 and 4:00 the shut off arm should lift and then the unit water valve will send 6 sec. of water. So then this is when the ice maker sends the 120 vac to the water valve coils. You have this small window of test time to have your meter set to see if the voltage is being sent. If not then the ice maker is part # . You can test the water valve coils to see if they are open or shorted, if so then the water valve is part # . You need to make sure your fill tube is not frozen solid not allowing the water to enter the ice maker. Is the ice maker not ejecting the cubes ? Thank You.

Answer Hi Mario. I will try to explain the instructions. Remove power. Pull out the unit and remove lower back cover. Look to the RT. side by the condenser and fan assy. Is there a 120 vac , 2- wire connector awaiting the water valve to connect to. It will have a white and red or black wire in it. Use the screw provided to mount the water valve in the predrilled hole in the Rt. inner frame above the Rt. rear wheel. On the water valve bracket is a short inward folded locater tab that will inset in abnother hole as yoy align the screw to mount the water valve. There is a water line tubing which connects to the water valve output bottom with plastic threads, use the connector provided and snug tightly before you mount the valve to the side. Then run the fill tube up the back of the freezer wall to where the fill tube will enter the cabinet and use tape to hold it there . Remove the freezer shelf and remove the back wall. The wire harness will have a connector that goes to the freezer wire harness and plug in. Find these 2 opposite ends. Then the other end will go uut and through the back wall cover opening on the upper lt. side. This end connects to the ice maker. Find and install the wire harness that connects the ice maker at the left rear side of the ice maker head assy. It will have a molded black fuse and this end will insert into the ice maker. Then insert the 2 1/2 " silver screws in the cabinet ice maker mount holes. Make sure these screws will not extrude through the side of the cabinet and create a issue. Mount the ice maker. Make sure it is level side to side, front to back. Use a torpedo level on the bottom of the ice maker. This will insure proper fill up and cube size. It is worth the effort to do this. Then go to the back. Remove the peel off sticker covering the cabinet where the fill tube inserts. Install the fill tube as so the 2 - outer ribs will go between the cabinet and as you twist it so the water line is at 6;00. Make sure no gaps exist and that the fill tube is sealed from outside air. If not then it will create a ice build up inside behind the rear wall where you cannot see and create a issue. Lastly you connect the water line at the water valve from the house (wall)area. Check for leaks. Use the bucket to put on the shelf to collect the ice. The ice maker will not call for a harvest until the ice maker thermostat sences 14°, then it will call for water and cycle automatically after this first time. It may take an over night to see the first results. Let us know if we can assist. further. Thank You.
I installed the ice maker kit with existing wiring harness, no water is flowing to ice maker, lever is in the down position. I am showing about 18 volts to water valve. Is this normal? Thanks
Answer Hello Bob. There will only be 120 volts when the icemaker IM34 cycles, not when you plug up the water valve. You will need to cycle the icemaker to send voltage to the water valve or give it about 4 to 6 hours to cycle. Hope this helps.
