How do take off the selector knob?

Grasp the knob firmly and pull. It should slide off of the "D" shaft.
I have a frigidaire dryer-model number 1317900. The dryer knob and "D" shaped stem has broken off. Can this be replaced or do I have to buy a new dryer?

The model number listed is not showing as a valid model. If the knob and stem broke off then you would want to replace the knob and the component that the stem brok off of.
The knob you turn on and set time and cycle. It stays in one place it does not turn by its self. What part do I need

Answer Hello Michael. If there is power to the timer motor, and the motor does not turn, you will need to replace the timer 134049600.
Do you have the temperatures control knob? On my dryer it is the first knob
