The oven and the broiler will not ignite or heat. I do not smell any gas. The top gas burners work fine. The oven and broiler temperature control display seems to be working. When I turn on the oven or the broiler, I hear a click like it wants to engage. The oven light works. Any advice would be much apprecitated.
Answer Hello Bill,
If the ignitor 5303935066 is glowing, it should be practically white hot. Red and Orange isn't hot enough. You see, the ignitor has to heat up to the point that the resistance is high enough in the circuit to increase current flow to between 3.2 and 3.6 amps. This is the current flow required to open the gas valve. If the ignitor is doing this properly, the issue will have to be a defective safety valve 3203459.
My oven will not come on. The ignitor is glowing and sensor ohms out at 1100 ohms.
Answer Hello Richard,
The most common failure is the ignitor 316489400. It's hard to tell for sure without a clamp on ampmeter TJCL1100, but the ignitor needs to turn almost white hot to open the safety valve and ignite. Orange isn't quite hot enough. The ignitor should pull between 3.2 to 3.6 amps of current to open the valve properly. Of course you should make sure gas is available to the unit. If the surface burners work, this is verification enough.
My oven will not light, the digital controls on top seem to work, if you hit preheat and set it to 350 in about 5 seconds it just cancels itself.
I removed the ignitor next to the burner and connected it to 120v and it glows without any problem, do you think this module Part Number: AP4374595 is the problem.
Answer Hi Wilson. No, the spark module is for the top burners only. You need to check the oven sensor part # 316134900. You need to see if it will ohm out between 1080-1,000 ohms. Move the wires as you check it, so if it is a open or shorted wire it will show up. Usually the oven sensor will bring up a F-3 code if defective. If the sensor is OK, then change the clock control part # 5303935102. Thank You.
My frigidaire gas stove will not work. The burners work fine and the clock works but the stove will not light when turned on. No heat, no lights in oven part of stove. Smells like gas when I turn on but no flame to oven.
Answer Hello Debbie. You will need to test and see if there is 120 volts going to the igniter 5303935066. If so, and the igniter is not glowing, you will need to replace the igniter. If there is not 120 volts going to the igniter, you will need to replace the clock assembly 316455410. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Is the module considered to be the relay switch?
Answer Typically the spark module sends a spark to light the top burners. If you need diagnosis help, we have a Repair Forum on our website and you may be able to find an answer by searching in the range or cooking section and you can even post your own questions. Be sure to provide your model and serial numbers. Here is the link http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/ Thanks!
