Trying to remove the pump/drain and it will not come off. I moved the hose clamps back super far and still can't get it to disconnect. What's the trick? If it's rusted in like you mentioned in a previous post, how do we deal with the rust to get it out?
Answer Hello Amy,
The drain pump is obviously bad or it would not be rusted on. The seal leaks and allows water to rust the motor shaft which swells it onto the plastic coupler in the pump. I normally use a keyhole saw to cut the pump in half. Aim for just off center of the motor shaft so it can be cut down beside the motor shaft. This is a lot of trouble but you can get the pump off of the motor without damaging the motor. You do have watch that you are only cutting the pump and not getting into the motor. If careful, this can be done without removing the motor from the machine. When you get it off, sand the motor shaft down to metal, (remove all rust possible), and put a light coat of petroleum jelly on the motor shaft to prevent further rust formation.
Washer drains water while washer is filling up.
For this issue it is most likely that the drain hose is pushed to far down into the standpipe and causing the drain to siphon while filling.
How do I access the washer drain pump? Does the front lower panel come off? Thanks!
Answer Hello John,
Using a putty knife, (paint scraper), push in on the clips between the main top and the main front panel. When these are released, the door panel will drop forward and lift off of the bottom clips. This provides access to the internal components of the unit including the pump.
The washer is not pumping out the water. All the hoses are in great shape.
Answer Hello. Check and make sure the pump 131208500 is not clogged on the unit. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. Thank you. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx
How do I remove the pump? I have removed the hoses and the clips but pump won't come off motor.
Answer Hello Bill. The pump 131208500 pulls off the motor shaft. If it is rusted, it can be difficult to remove. Hope this helps.

Answer Hello Bill. Once the hoses and clips are removed, you will pull the pump 131208500 off the motor shaft. If the shaft is rusted inside the pump assembly, the pump is very difficult to remove from the shaft of the motor. Hope this helps.
