HELLO. YOUR WEBSITE OFFERS A REPLACEMENT ICE MAKER WHICH I ORDERED, MY CONCERN IS WILL IT WORK OF MY MODEL? I HAVE OCCASIONALLY HAD TO CLEAR THE FLOW TUBE INTO THE FRIDGE, THE WATER I CAN HEAR GOING IN BUT IT ONLY IS MAKING 20% OF WHAT IT DID. THE ICE ONLY DUMPS ONCE IN AWHILE, THE CUBES ARE THE SAME SIZE AS BEFORE. IF I NEED A NEW VALVE ALSO DO YOU HAVE MINE? LAST QUESTION DOES THE ICE MAKER CALL FOR WATER FROM THE VALVE OR IS IT ALL TIMED? THANK YOU, BOB P. the order #34733446
Answer Bob, You didn't supply a proper or complete model number, so it is a bit difficult verifying the parts you need. The 5303918277 will fit and operate in most versions of the FRS26ZSH side by side refrigerators. Based on the post information, you may want to start by replacing the fill valve. The ice in the fill tube, and an extended time to produce ice cubes, could be due to a faulty fill valve. You should seriously consider both parts. Heat release ice makers do have a time limit(usually 7 to 10 seconds) to fill the ice maker mold with 4 to 4.5 oz. of water. This occurs at the end of the ice maker cycle at the 11 to 1 O'clock position.
Water doesn't enter ice tray.
You will want to pull the icemaker out and see if the fill tube is frozen. If frozen you will need to clear the ice and replace water valve. If the tube is clear you will have to cycle the icemaker and do a voltage test on the water valve. Check to see if you have 120 vac to the water valve when the unit calls for water. If you do and no water goes through then you need a new water valve and if there is no power then you would need a new icemaker.
Where does the water go into the ice maker and what sends it to the ice maker
When you pull the icemaker out there is a tube coming in from the back of the unit that fills the icemaker. Check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. Also check the icemaker to make sure that the pins in the center of the large gear are not broken. If fill tube is frozen then you will want to replace the water valve which is located on the back of the unit behind the panel on the back. If the gear is broken then you would need to replace the ice module.
My ice maker suddenly quit. Where do I start? Should I replace the icemaker?
Answer Hello John. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
How Do you cycle the ice maker?
Answer Hello Anthony,
To advance this icemaker you will pull the front cover off and useing a small flat blade screwdriver turn the small wheel counter clockwise. Once it has be turned a little the unit should continue on its own.
