Originally, the igniter would glow white hot, but the oven would not light. Now, with the stove disassembled and no gas connected, the igniter does not come on, and the 124 VAC was read not at the igniter, but between the now open leads that I removed from the safety valve. BTW, I read 2.2 ohms across the valve.

I removed the two leads from the safety valve and connected a voltmeter between them. The gas has been disconnected. I turned the oven on and the igniter does not come on, the voltage reads 124VAC. What next??

I am pretty sure I need to order a new Safety Valve, but first I want to check it. I have removed all the screws from the back plate, it hangs loosely but will not come off, it seems to be held by something on the horizontal top lip. How can I remove the back plate without disassembling the top burners? What is the correct way to gain access to the safety valve?

I think tHe Safety Valve in my Frigidaire FGF328GSC is bad. But to remove it, I need first to Remove the back plate. I have it loose from the back, but it seems that there is something still holding it from a lip on the top. Do I need to disassemble the entire top to remove the rear plate? Seems like a design flaw. Is there a better way to get to the valve?

When you turn the oven on the igniter glows bright orange and after about 4-5 minutes the oven will light you can smell gas about a minute before the burner lights. Any idea what could be malfunctioning.

Igniter glows bright orange. If I tap the safety valve cover it will then open and light. Is the igniter weak or is the valve going out?

Oven will not light and gas does not flow when the oven is turned on using the electronic panel on the backsplash. Burners on the stove top work fine.
